Within Rust pride themselves on having a big sound, and a small engine. Self managed, run ragged, and always balancing a thousand ideas at once. It’s this kind of ethic that results in songs like “Rorschach”, with a clear ode to 90's Post Hardcore, and “The Taking” a Killers esque Indie track with a nod to Pink Floyd.
In mixing such disparate genres as Progressive Rock and Post-hardcore, there’s a lot of room for error, but Within Rust is able to wind all these and more into a strange and accessible Indie Rock package.
They present these ideas live, with ease, and have done so around the continent. After a 2014 summer stint in the states, broken only by a showcase at The Roxy for ‘Seeds’ presented by 99.3 The Fox, the four boys have truly left a sizeable dent in the sonic sphere.
